Dancing with the stars... part 2

Sooo I am still doing designs that inspire me from the show. The one I did last night was still from week one of Karina's outfit she wore a retro green,blue, and pink dress with tassels.

I originally was going to do a gardient design but It was not coming out the way I wanted it to so I just did stripes. I painted the nail with a base coat of Wet N Wild "s Megablast  Tropicalia. It is a nice coral color.

I then added Ruby Kisses Blue's Clue and Ruby Kisses Neon Green.

Was not happy with my nails from the last time so I went home and redid them I used KleanColors's Neon Yellow.

 As I just can not leave just a color on my nails I decided to do a shooting star. I placed a red star in the left corner of the nail and with by blue, black , and glitter silver stripers to make a tail to my star.

Breast Caner Awareness

All Halloween stuff aside it is also breast cancer awareness month, I have not been affected or has anyone close to me but I support all those that are going through it or knows someone who is. I bought the OPI I think in pink set of 2 colors to support the cause. The colors are I Think in Pink-which is a very sheer pink ( not really a fan due to I have to use about 3 or 4 coats of it) and the awesome You Gillter be good to me- which is tiny pieces of pink glitter with medium size purple shapes.

For my breast cancer nails I painted my nails with a color that I got from Avon it is Viva pink and it is in their nail pro wear collection.

To spruce it up I did a french mani on all of my nails minus the ring fingers with OPI's You Glitter be good to me. For the ring finger I covered them fully with the Glitter be good to me. For the pinky I tried to do a breast caner ribbon on my pinky's. In person it looks like what it is supposed to but the photos don't really do it justice.

I Love AVON!!!!!!!!

So one of my good friends is a Avon rep and I have ordered from her multiple times. this last order I was really excited about. I bought a nail dryer that was in the kids section for 10 bucks not bad I also go some more nail polish and nail glitter which I will show on later post. What I am showing now is this awesome vampire ring and spider ring and earrings.

 This is the cool vampire ring I ordered, the beads are supposed to be like drops of blood. This is what it looks like on.

 Next is the spider two finger ring. The web is on one finger an a chain is attached to a tiny spider that you put on another finger. The middle of the spiders body is made of pearls. The spider web has diamonds on certain points of the web.

Not sure how to wear it correctly but I put the spider 2 fingers from the finger I put the web so it looks like it is crawling on a string. The next item I acquired is the spider web earrings, I could of also gotten the necklace that matched but I felt it was overboard.

Outfest.......the fest that I missed

Sooooo this Sunday in Philadelphia was out fest. It is a huge event supporting gay, lesbian, and transgender people. I was supposed to got to this awesome event but it was raining and I assumed they would have canceled it, boy was I wrong I heard it has a huge turn out. For the fest I had painted my nails with a rainbow design. I did not get to ware it there but boy did I get compliments from people around town about my bright nails.

Swatches.... Once Upon a time

Continuing with my swatches guess I just do them as I use them. This new color I bought is called Once Upon a Time. It is Fantasy Makers from the creators of Wet n Wild. i got it from the Spirit Halloween store in the Plymouth meeting mall.  The color is basically a light sheer  black base coat with large red hexagon glitter shapes and small red round glitter pieces. I love the color color it reminds me of lace and vampires very sexy.

The bottle is really cool as well it has a tombstone as the lid of the  nail polish.

Swatches....Halloween French

I absolutly love this color it is perfect for Fall colors. It is Spicy Apricot  HD by Ruby Kisses.The color is extremely warm and has a bit of a shiny sheen to it.

I can't just sit with just plain colors on my nail so I decided to do a somewhat french manicure

I am still addicted to Halloween so I decided to add a spider to the middle finger of both hands

Happy October all!!!!!! This is my favorite time of year the weather is getting chillier, the leaves are falling Halloween is coming up, and best of all boots!!!!!!!!!!!. So this weekend I was at a pool tournament ( was not playing as a spectator) , I have been before and no how bored I get so I decided to bring my nails. The color I decided to pain my nails was Neon Green- by Ruby Kisses. I get the nail polish from a store down the street from my house for only a dollar.

 I was not a fan of the neon green you cant really tell but it was really transparent. The  rest of the colors from this line are really nice and pretty though. I got board with just the green so I added stitches to remind me of Frankenstein with my nail black nail art pen.

Dancing with the stars

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally Dancing with the stars is back on. I was unable to watch last season due to I changed shifts and now work 1:30pm to 10:00 pm. Now that I can record TV I was able to catch both episodes that aired this week.  I am so obsessed with this show that I even took ballroom dancing lessons. I was inspired by some of the costumes to do nail designs so I will be showing that for the next few days.

So this first one I was inspired to do a design like Kym's , she is Joeys partner again this year. He did so well and is always full of energy. Here is her outfit :

And here is what I came up with:  I used a gold background( I had to use one of my stripers due to the gold that I do have was not cutting it) and I attached clear gems to the right side of my nails to look like the gems that were raining down her shoulder.

Splat!!!!!!!

So this was my first time doing the splatter affect on my nail's, it actually was a lot easier than I thought it would be. What I did was a little research before I attempted to do my little project. Most of the sites I found people use a straw to use do the splatter affect others use brushes, as to I do not have brushes yet ( sooo trying to acquire them) I used a straw.

What I did was cut up a small coffee stirrer straw into smaller pieces, you are going to blow the nail polish onto your nails. Next, I painted my nails black for a base coat, others have chose white and I think I will try that next time.

Then  I chose 4 colors that I wanted on my nail, i was going for the retro look so I chose White, Yellowed out, Barbie purple, and neon green. ( eventually I will get to doing swatches). Sites that I researched said to use the lightest colors first then work your way to the darker.

Then, I dipped one end of the straw into my nail polish making sure that the hole was completely covered. The next step was to blow into the straw, if I did not research this I would have done this completely wrong. The trick is to blow into the straw as if you are saying the word two, putting emphasis on the "t". At first I tried to blow into it like I was blowing bubbles into soda and nothing was happening, I remembered what I read and did it like I was saying two and it was smooth sailing from there.

So another idea from a man. I painted by nails 2 different colors then did the dots as alternate colors of the opposite nail. Love it!!!!!!!!!

So I tried out purple glitter on top of black nail polish. It turned out really well and I am addicted to shinny things.I will get more detailed with this sort of thing I am still a beginner.

This was my 3rd attempt at water marbling and I think it turned out pretty great the 3 colors I used were order orange, blue and pink. For some reason the orange didn't turn up but showed as a peach color.

Yay...finally my daughter let me paint her nails, even though she was falling asleep as I was doing them. What I did was a metallic gold as a base coat, then did a black heart on top of it. Next i filled it in with silver on top leaving some black as a outline.I got the design from the book I bought about WAH Nails.

I was going to AC for the weekend and tried to do a poker chip design on my nail. It did not turn out so hot. I did not leave enough space for the colors in between the black to show through.

Uggg... my nails look so bad in this picture. I was in the middle of taking the fake ones off and got tired so I left them as they were. I have gotten now that I can not leave my nails with out nail polish so I just did footballs due to football started this week.

This idea was by accident I was going to the beach and wanted to try a sunset type gradient nail art. The boyfriend was looking at my nail plates and said i should put the she- devil on it due to it looked like hell on my nails.

My job had a luau theme for our company picnic. I have no artistic skills whatsoever so I tried to do something easy like palm trees. This was the first time I did gradient design as well I think it turned out pretty well. A lot of people asked if I air brushed it.

Everyone loves rainbows

I saw this design from another blogger. I'm sorry I don't remember who it was so I can give credit but i loved the design. It was black background with rainbow gems going up the nail. As you can see i lost a red gem on my index finger. Oh well......

wedding ring nails

I did this design for a friends wedding. I treated all the nails as the engagement ring and the ring finger as the wedding ring. For the middle of the engagement rings I put in individual pieces of glitter. Hopefully I will get better at this posting and picture taking thing :)

fruit anyone?

I just love the fimo nail canes. I decided to do a different color for each nail and have matching fruit on each one. Yellow -lemon, Pink-strawberry, Green-lime,Orange-orange and on the thumb Red- watermelon. I decided to do a line design across with black, white, and silver on the tips on the nails.

4th of july

This is a horrible picture and all I have is a camera phone, but I did these for the 4th of Jul. I just did them on my regular nails and just did blue nail polish and red and white gems going up and across opposite nails.

This was the 2nd nail art that I tried. I bought the Konad nail plates and stamper set. It did not turn out so well but i thought it was pretty cool. After doing this I swore off the stamps, but I have gotten better .I used black gems on the underside of my nails
